Well, not exactly a beautiful pea green boat

But good enough and now on the way to the upper most, outer most tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula.
Here are a few photos: Neighbor Mark steering her away from the dock at Wit’s End one last time, the pontoon with the giant mosquito on the deck, and all loaded up and ready to pull away, We also sent a Captain’s hat, a bottle of champagne and a case of home canned hot sauce.Boat_2Boat1

  1. That is a gorgeous boat – I’m sure that Bud will enjoy storing it for you very much.

And home-made hot sauce?!?! Recipe please!

  2. The boat looks fantastic. I am sure Bud will really enjoy it. I love the mosquito! Hat, champagne, and hot sauce! Wow! You are really going to make someone’s day. It is touching how thoughtful you are. I loved the picture of the place too! It sure looks lovely there.
    Have a wonderful day!

  3. You’re a great person for going through all this for Bud.

Is the champagne for popping across the bow on the maiden voyage, or for throat-sluicing?

I know what the hot sauce is for: winter.

  4. Perfectly chosen gifts! Those Michigan skeeters are bigger than I recall!

  5. Mom and Dad honeymooned in the upper penninsula of Michigan 55 years ago. She does say the mosquitoes there are AT LEAST as big as the one on the boat!!!! That boat will give Bud the chance to do some FINE fishing!

And Wit’s End, if I had the means I would be first in line to buy. Sigh!

  6. After five minutes of searching I finally found the mosquito. AAAAAAAAAAAA!

  7. Hurrah for Bud and the boat!

  8. Like Roxanne’s parents, I remember the mosquitoes in Michigan too, and they were almost that big! In fact, tht was the most amazing thing about Michigan to me. That, and the 6’8″ guy I met in St. Johns…..LOL

  9. Gorgeous place, and lovely to see that boat on the way to Bud. Happy 4th girl!

  10. I’m so glad I read the previous post, so I saw that the pontoon was going to Bud’s for safekeeping, and not sailing out of your life completely.

  11. Man, when you decide to do something, you do it right away don’t you? I can’t wait to hear how much Bud loves it.

I’m with Roxanne. I would buy Wit’s End in a heartbeat.

  12. Hi! I didn’t realized how much I missed you until I came back. (I’ve been away too.) 🙂
