Weather report

It’s a gray and overcast Monday here in Michigan. Currently 30F. I know that I often write long and rambly posts that apparently leave most of you speechless (or gone by the 2nd paragraph.) Not today. Yesterday was the Bud and Jan Show- it’s below for their fans. Today I am going to grace my entire blogroll, plus all commenters plus three total strangers with our local weather stats. I’m on my way.

Beyond that, it’s time for ALL of you readers to delurk and tell me the temperature and precipitation at your place. Weather report, please. Seriously. What’s it like in your neck of the woods?

  1. I was surprised when I walked out the front door this morning…it was really windy but not at all cold. Overall, its been a mild winter so far. I expect that to change anytime.

    Happy Monday!

  2. You must have been up VERY early – it was 34 here at 6:30am when I let the dog out. Or is it really true that if you go 15 min east it gets colder? It is Michigan so it WILL change! Happy Monday!

  3. Read your blog everyday. I found you while reading my friend Jen’s(jenorama) blog. It is 27 degress here in Northeast Missouri.

  5. At 10:30AM here in Virginia Beach it is 56 degrees headed for a high of 66 degrees with SW winds around 15mph and bright sunshine. So sorry, don’t mean to gloat. It might be 30 by tomorrow, who knows.

Ha Ha Ha on the i-pod and palm pilot. I had my own version for Saturday but more of an “i tooth pod”. Bad pun. Bad pun.
Been with Mom to one doctor already, one more to go today.

  6. Seattle:
    45ΒΊF
    Light Rain
    Wind: SE at 6 mph
    Humidity: 87%

What a surprise that Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will have light rain, as well!

Have a great Monday, Vicki! You are a BIG weather gal, indeed!

  7. Not so much a lurler, just new. It’s colder than a welldiggers butt here in the armpit of Illinois. πŸ™‚
    Happy delurking day.

  8. Here I am at work on a lunch break, obediantly calling weather to get an exact report. It is currently 46 degrees here in the DC area, but supposed to get up to the low 60’s today. This is not normal weather. Tomorrow is supposed to be 20 degrees cooler than that. Visit me today and join the baby shower for Angie!

  10. Well, my Weatherpixie says 23Β°F and 100% humidity, but she’s about 30 minutes west of me, in Laim, which is sort of Outer Munich. Still, she’s reasonably accurate, basically telling me what my weather will be like in half an hour.

  11. Sunny and warm here in West Tennessee. Unseasonably warm. Kinda gives me the willies!

  12. Its gonna be warm here all week. Nice on the heating bill not so nice on the carpets when the frozen ground turns to mud and my dane drags it in…but pretty outside!

  13. Here I am again. I’m getting so good at this! Okay, so its 54 DEGREES here! Can you believe it?? Global warming predicts we’ll be like Florida some day… What will happen to Floriday then? Will be too hot for all the old people in scooters? Will they all come to the Lehigh Valley?? I’d say the chances double if that casino down the road ever gets built. This will be the new retirement plaza. Got any idea what that will do to my commutte?! God help me.

  14. I admit it, I’m a lurker. 35 degrees and rather overcast here; ‘here’ being out amongst the farms a bit southwest of Ann Arbor, so not a big difference than the weather in your neighborhood. The sun’ll come out tomorrow though!

  16. It was 54 when I got up this morning. Right now, my La Crosse remote says it is 70.8 outside at 1:30 pm EST. Too warm for central Georgia in January.

  17. 49, windy and rainy with occasional landslides, people are groggy and irritable.

I love your long posts, they inspire me to think about maybe writing in actual paragraphs instead of haikus.

  18. This winter has been fabulously warm: it’s January here in southern Ontario and only 1C (that’s 34F for you backward Americans πŸ˜‰ ). Feels like -5C (25F) but all I’m wearing is a cute tee, scarf and coat for outside and I’m swell. It’s grey and rather overcast as well, but not too windy–perfect winter day (we just need more snow on the ground).

  19. Oh, so you want a weather report, do ya?

OK – here ’tis: In Marietta, Jawja (just north of Atlanta), it’s partly cloudy (the clouds are starting to roll in in anticipation of a cold front), it’s 68Β°F with a high of 79 expected, with barometric pressure 30.24 inches and falling. Winds are out of the west at 9 MPH.

I may just go and put on a Hawaiian shirt, it’s so nice. Eat your heart out.

BTW, thanks right back atcha for your visits and comments. Vicki, you are a doll. In the best possible way, that is.

  21. What a coincidence! I’m posting a comment at Genuine Dad’s website (my first time ever there), check to see if it posted, and right above my comment, there you are with your Ann Arbor weather report. Small blog world, eh. Course, I already know the weather here.

Hea, I did want to follow up on your comment at Genuine Dad’s regarding your website. For whatever reason, your site loads the slowest of any I regularly visit. Don’t know why, but thought I should tell you that FWIT.

  22. I know, Dave, I know. If I ever won a page redesign or something that might get fixed- but since even I can barely load it there will be an ice rink in Hades before that happens. I think someone has to be able to load your page before it wins anything. Sigh. That’s why I am especially gratefull to those who actually come, read and comment. Don’t worry- I’ll be at your place soon with the weather- just in case you hadn’t noticed it yet today…

  23. Currently in St. Louis we have cloudy skies with a temperature of 40 degrees. Happy De-Lurking Day!

  24. It’s 25 degrees and partly sunny in Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Today I drove my daughter to school which means we SLEPT IN a wee tiny bit AND I got to see SUNSHINE on my commute instead of total darkness.

No wonder I’m fucking giddy today.

    SUNSHINE, VICKI! SUNSHINE!

    :))))

  25. Raleigh: 65* and sunny. Eerily warm for January, but welcome anyway!

Why the mission? Did someone challenge you?

  26. It’s 36 degrees and dry here in Cleveland, which is a huge improvement over December (temperatures in the teens and 20s and tons of snow). Thank you for stopping by! I really enjoy your blog, even when I have nothing to contribute to the conversation.

  27. Also a Michigander (west coast). It’s 37 degrees and cloudy at 4:02 p.m. Yesterday we saw sunshine for the first time in 15 days. Kind of wish we’d get some more snow, actually…

  28. Currently our weather is: 4 degrees, partly cloudy, 100% humidity, southerly winds @ 21 km/h, 8km visibility! Oh it’s great here…not!

  29. I’m your 3rd commenter from the Seattle area today, and the weather is what everyone expects it to be in Seattle at time of year, but I’ll tell you again. πŸ™‚

Today in Seattle it’s 48 degrees F (4 degrees higher than average for this day!), wind SE at 4 mph, 93% humidity, dewpoint 46 degrees. What does that mean? Light rain… and general crankiness increasing until summer.

  30. Hey Vicki, I am de-lurking…..
and i don’t have to tell you the weather, since i live right accross the river from you in lovely Windsor, Ontario…..we are getting the same crappy weather as you! ( isn’t it supposed to be winter?)

  31. 67 degrees F at 6:15 pm. The day was cool, sunny, with brilliant blue skies…almost perfect. Meteorologists report this was due to it being Monday.

  32. It’s warm…too danged warm for the east coast…and just when we think it’s warm…we normally get dumped on by snow…I’ll be hiding in the wood shed…if I had one, that is!

  33. Vicki! Way over here on the east side of Ann Arbor, at 8:00 PM it’s clear and still above freezing. What a long cold December we had. Maybe NO days above freezing all month?
My dad died on Dec 30, and I’ve been home to Boston and now am back. I thought I was ready to let go; he was 93 and not well. But now I know I wasn’t ready and I feel wobbly and odd. And old. I came on over to Outside In to check in and maybe have a chuckle. Your tale of the trip home had me falling off my chair. My dad would have loved it too. Thanks for the cheer today. I really needed it.

  34. I have been laughing my ass off about your weather reports around the blogosphere today. I am still baffled. It was 35 degrees for a high today, and overcast for the entire 5 mile run, and *windy* at the end of it, goshdammit! I don’t know about the barometric pressure, but I haven’t had a sinus headache. And I live in Missouri. And I am friends with Spookalot, Beth in St. Louis, and Rebecca. πŸ™‚ All in real life. and Karl, but he has not been here yet. And Michelle de Seattle.

  35. Jen- Karl was here alright. He just refuses to de-lurk, REFUSES. After all the love I send his way! REFUSES! But he’s been here, believe me.

  36. Now I understand.

Asheville–fricking gorgeous today. 68 degrees, sunny and clear.

Downside is it’s all due to global climate change.

  37. Now I understand.

Downside is it’s all due to global climate change.

  38. It is 36 degrees in St. Louis. The humidity is 75%. Winds are out of the north at 5 MPH. It’s cloudy with mixed precipitation (rain into snow with no accumulation) expected late tonight. It has cooled off a bit since Beth posted.

  39. My weather is the same as Bonnie’s, but right now it’s raining pretty hard and in the low 40s. There are dangers of mudslides and floods, according to the internet. Our mountains are finally getting some much-needed snow–by the feet, and not by the inch.

  40. It’s about 3 degress (celcius.. I’m a Canadian girl) and a little misty. All in all I can’t complain. Supposed to be upto 8 or so tomorrow! Woohoo maybe I can deny that it is winter for a little bit longer.

  41. Hi. i ‘m here late.

Beautiful day. Warm, sunny, lots of time in the park.

    Tomorrow the rain starts again.

  42. now honestly, do you REALLY want me to give you the weather report? You could just step outside and say yep I agree…in fact I think we are having the same weather, I do believe so my dear πŸ˜‰

  43. It was in the 30’s here today but it’s supposed to edge into the 60’s by mid-week.

30-some comments? OMG, girl, but I suppose the love one gets here is preferrable to the cold slap in the face one gets at my place.

  44. Meeta: Trust me on this – if you are in E. Lansing, Vicki will tell you that the weather is ever so much better in Ann Arbor.

  45. Checking in from Santa Cruz, Calfornia, home of militant vegans, white kids in dreadlocks and other misfits like me. Today and throughout the winter, the 60s.

I tried to hold out in providing the weather report until Friday. But, you are Vicki and if you want me to delurk, I’ll delurk immediately.

Oh, and about Friday? I’ll be in Maui. I’ll chow down at Mama’s for you, m’dollin.

  46. Your header picture is gorgeous. Don’t beat yourself up about the lurkers
only about 4% of my hits comment. But, that’s OK.It’s 55 hear today and sunny. But, the HIs have been about 75 and LOWs about 45. When I lived in Chicago it seemed
like those gray days were all too frequent – I know what you mean. ;~)

  47. Since I am in Jackson, it is pretty much the same as where you are. I think it was sunny today, although in my cube it was way too hot for the long-sleaved shirt and sweater I was wearing. It was awfully nice to see the sun again finally.

  48. Cold, grey and wet outside.

    Inside?

HOT, snuggly and um, er, ahem… I promise I’ll catch up soon. Miss you!

  49. Bonnie-
I’m still in Ann Arbor, I commute to East Lansing πŸ˜‰ So yes sadly Vicki still has to deal with me. HA!
